5 Ways To Protect Yourself From The Sun

Sun Safety is no joke! So while this isn’t food related there are plenty of things we are doing outside with food like grilling, a park picnic, a backyard happy hour and so on. Here are our top five tips to protect your skin from the sun

Sunscreen: if you don’t have on any makeup apply and reapply your sunscreen. It you do have on makeup, there are brush on options like mineral fusion that will give you extra protection.

Vitamin C: research has shown that when vitamin c is applied as part of your skincare routine prior to makeup followed by a UVA sunscreen it is more effective at neutralizing free radical damage from sun exposure than just using sunscreen alone.

Lip Care: every part of your skin deserves the same care so when choosing your lip care, look for ones that have an added benefit of sunscreen.

Hat: find the shade. If you don’t have much shade around, create the shade by wearing a hat, or a long sleeve swim shirt.

Sunglasses: have you been in the gift and home area lately? It ranges from store to store but there are some common themes this summer and sunglasses are one of them. Grab a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays to reduce the risk of cataracts.
