Cherry Dutch Baby

Pull out the cast iron pan for this easy breakfast or dessert treat for a quick and delicious seasonal delight.

What You Need

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • ½ c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • ½ c. all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup Cherries, pitted
  • Optional toppings: Whipped Cream, ice cream, slivered almonds, maple syrup, powdered sugar

 How It’s Made:

  1. Preheat oven to 425
  2. Melt butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet and place the skillet in the oven while you mix up the batter
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until well combined
  4. Whisk in the flour and salt and mix until the batter is mostly smooth
  5. Remove the skillet from the oven and pour in batter
  6. Place back into oven and bake for 20 minutes, until golden and puffed on the sides
  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 300°F and continue baking for another 5 minutes
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely
  9. Enjoy as breakfast or dessert
