In population studies, green tea is believed to reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease by reducing atherosclerosis. It has also been observed to raise HDL (good cholesterol) and lower LDL (bad cholesterol). Green tea may also increase your metabolism during the day to help you burn a few extra calories.

New studies show that green onions have 140x more phytonutrients (plant nutrients) than white onions and are interchangeable in most dishes. One study showed that men who ate about 2 tbsp of green onions per day had a 50% lower risk of prostate cancer than those who ate no green onions.
