Manage The Holiday Stress

Celebrating the holiday season with family and friends brings joy and happiness. It may also bring stress to different degrees. While we might not be able to eliminate stress altogether, managing your stress level during the holiday season can help you enjoy it more and be present with your loved ones. Here are our top five tips to better manage stress this season:

  1. Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

Don’t underestimate the power of sleep. Sleeping helps our body reset and fuel up for the next challenges. Aim for 6-8 hours daily to allow your body to rest and recharge.

  1. Drink Water

With the cold weather, sometimes we forget to hydrate properly. Water helps increase energy levels, prevent dehydration, and help with weight loss. Feeling thirsty can sometimes be confused with feeling hungry. Drinking 8 cups of water daily can better regulate hunger and fullness cues during gatherings, keep our bathroom schedule regular and boost your mood.

  1. Eat High Fiber Meals

High-fiber food like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables can help regulate the digestive system and prevent constipation. It can also keep you full for longer and prevent overeating.

  1. Take Your Vitamins And Minerals

Getting your vitamins and minerals like magnesium, a calming mineral, and B vitamins that boost your mood and energy is essential during the holiday season. Make sure to eat a well-balanced diet and take your supplements regularly that you’ve talked with your doctor and care team about.

  1. Focus On The Season

Sometimes we get carried away with decorations, cooking, buying presents, or even partying and forget what the season is all about. Take joy in small things, and fill your days with laughter and joy this season.
