Tips to Reducing Heart Disease

Heart research is continuously being done and for good reason. Why? Because as it still stands, heart disease is the number one cause of death in America. Based on American Heart Association, Mayo Clinic, CDC, and WebMD guidelines here are a few ways to reduce your risk of heart disease:

  • Control Your Blood Pressure
  • Keep your cholesterol and triglyceride levels under control
  • Stay at a healthy weight
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Get regular exercise
  • Limit alcohol
  • Don’t smoke
  • Manage stress

Looking at the list can be overwhelming but try picking one that resonates with you and go from there. Once you accomplish that goal, re-examine the list and pick another goal. The goal is not to be perfect in each of these, but rather to better them.
